Welcome to English 9 Introduction to Genres

This year we will read, write, and think. I will use Stephen Downes' great list of "Things you really need to know" as I prepare my lessons:
  • How to predict consequences
  • How to read
  • How to distinguish truth from fiction
  • How to empathize
  • How to be creative
  • How to communicate clearly
  • How to learn
  • How to stay healthy
  • How to value yourself
  • How to live meaningfully
This is a writing course. You will be writing both personal and academic pieces.
